Flannery, I missed your nine-month update and then felt so guilty about missing it that I missed the next three updates, too. So I am trying to backtrack. Here’s what I recall of your eleventh month.

Flannery Simone turned eleven months on the 30th of March.
Here she is eating birthday donuts on Anselm’s birthday. As you see, she has only somewhat eaten at them. She’s a picky eater–very picky–we had a nice little reprieve once she started actually swallowing solids, but that has mostly passed by this point. She does still like sausage, and scrambled eggs, and bananas. Always bananas. Her first word? “NAH-nah”.
Flannery, would you like a banana?
*nods emphatically* Nah-nah! Nah-nah!
She will always eat a banana if it is offered. Flannery-Banannery becomes her temporary nickname.

For a little while longer she plays in the crib in the Colloquium. She loves to stand and hold onto the bars, but she can’t quite pull herself up yet. So you have to stand her up yourself, and she just holds on. She will stand for a long time like that, just watching everything that’s happening.
At the end of this month, that crib gets moved into her bedroom, and for the first time she is sleeping in a real, full-size crib.
Gross motor “delays” are not uncommon in our family, so I am not totally surprised when she is still not moving around, crawling, pulling up, etc. by this time. She is strong when she holds herself up, standing, so I figure it will come eventually as it has for her siblings.

This picture was taken so we could document the similarities between her hair and Grandfather’s hair.

Speaking of hair, she’s developed a nice little mullet and the ends are starting to get flippy. Sometimes they even look downright curly!
