John 14
Out of the depths I cry to you, Lord;
Lord, hear my voice.
Let your ears be attentive
to my cry for mercy.
If you, Lord, kept a record of sins,
Lord, who could stand?
But with you there is forgiveness,
so that we can, with reverence, serve you.
I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits,
and in his word I put my hope.

I looked at these and silence echoed in my ears.

It was an eerily silent place. I was the only one walking the path back in the woods where the execution range, graves, etc. were, and the solitude was both welcome, for privacy’s sake, and also oppressive. There were crows everywhere on the grounds. It is not an easy place to visit.

Ugh.
So much.
I see all those empty buildings and remember the horror that filled them.
Beautiful photos to help us, that may never set foot there, to remember the lives lost.
Erin says
Ugh is right. It is a difficult place to see.
